Defence Electric Light Emplacements, Blyth, Northumberland

These buildings housed search lights. They were built between 1914-18 as part of Britain's coastal defences. They were operated by an E.L.O. (Electric Light Officer) in a director station at Link House Battery. This is another building 300 metres to the south. They are a rare survival of a World War One coastal defence installation.
