Dudley Castle, Dudley, West Midlands

The castle was built as a claasic Norman motte and bailey. In the 14th century a stone keep, barbican and curtain walls were added. There are also the remians of a 16th century hall, chapel with undercroft and kitchens. The castle was visited by Queen Elizabeth I and was inhabited until 1750 when it was destroyed by fire.
