Eleanor Cross, Geddington, Northamptonshire

A view of Eleanor Cross erected by Edward I in memory of his wife Eleanor of Castille. There were 12 crosses originally to mark the resting places of Queen Eleanor's funeral cortege during it's journey from Lincoln to Westminster Abbey after her death in 1290. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
