Former Gas Board Offices, Friar Gate, Derby

This building is dated 1889. It is an early example of a steel framed building. It has a brick frieze with "Derby Gas Light and Coke Co" in raised lettering. This Victorian building contrasts with the Georgian buildings in the street. It is a real mixture of styles with different types of windows and gables and no regular pattern.
