Fynes Memorial, Blyth, Northumberland

This memorial is dedicated to Richard Fynes. He was "the author of the History of the Miners of Durham and Northumberland, and was also one of the founders of the Northumberland Miners Association". He started life as a trap boy working in the pits. He worked his way up in society. He did much to try and improve the lives of Durham miners.
