Goldsmiths' Almshouses, Churchfield Road, Acton, Greater London

The Goldsmiths Almshouses date from 1811. Land had been left to the Goldsmiths' Company by the famous Goldsmith John Perryn. There were originally 12 almshouses. They were for Almspeople chosen from the Settled Pension List and were always the oldest on the list. The almspeople received money to live off and coal. They also had to obey certain rules, such as going to church twice on a Sunday.
