Granary at Birdoswald Fort, Waterhead, Cumbria

Sheep ignore the excavated remains of a Roman granary at Birdoswald fort (Camboglanna). An inscription suggests the granary was built in 205-8 AD. Modern logs have been inserted to mark the position of upright beams when the granary became a hall in the 4th century.
