Guildhall, Burton Street, Nottingham

This guildhall was built in 1887-88 by Verity and Hunt. It is in a French Renaissance Revival style of architecture. A system of caves can be accessed from within the building. These have been adapted to form a number of brick-lined passages and cells and were used during World War Two as emergency headquarters and air raid shelters.
