Ironbridge, Shropshire

Here the Ironbridge is seen over the River Severn in the gorge that the bridge now lends it name to. This image is far removed from the scene when the bridge was constructed and the gorge was a major area iron production and coal mining. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
