Mackenzie and Robb Graves, Bamburgh, Northumberland

These are memorials to two reverends who were drowned in different wrecks. One is dedicated to "To the memory of the Rev. John Morell Mackenzie M.A., late professor of Biblical criticism and church history in the Glasgow Theological Academy, who lost his life in the wreck of the steam-ship Pegasus off the Goldstone rock on the morning of the 20th July 1843...'. Rev. Mackenzie is said to have gathered the passengers around him and prayed aloud as they drowned. The second is to "Rev.
