Martyrs Memorial, Rayleigh, Essex

The memorial was built in 1908. It commemorates four local Protestant martyrs, who died in 1555 during Queen Mary's reign. Two of the martyrs were burned at the stake where this memorial stands and two others were burnt at the stake in Smithfield Market, London.
