Masson Mills, Cromford, Derbyshire

Masson Mill, a water-powered cotton mill established by Richard Arkwright in 1769 and subsequently extended, was architecturally more imposing than the earlier Cromford Mill. Also visible is Willersley Castle, built in 1789-90 as a home fit for Sir Richard Arkwright's new status, but still close to his mill.
