Mendip Hospital, St Cuthbert Out, Somerset

This building was originally the Somerset County Pauper Lunatic Asylum. It was built in 1845-47 to designs by G G Scott and W B Moffatt. It is also an important example of G.G. Scott's early institutional work. He won the contract to built it in a competition. It was built by Kirk of Sleaford for £38,000.
