Mill at Parrett Iron Works, Martock, Somerset

This site was in use as a snuff mill in c1811. Then in 1855 it was rebuilt as an engineering and iron works. A rope walk (rope making shed) was added in c1864. The site includes some outstanding examples of late 19th century industrial architecture. It still has some buildings which were related to textile production. There is also evidence of the use of water and steam power and workers and managers housing.
