Netley Castle, Abbey Hill, Hound, Hampshire

The core of this house dates back to 1542. It was originally a coastal fort. It was one of a series of forts built in the Solent area by Henry VIII to protect the coast from the threat of invasion. The building was then extensively remodelled in 1885-90 in a Gothic/Baronial style of architecture.
