Old House, Main Street, Kibworth Harcourt, Leicestershire

This house is dated 1678. It also has a coat of arms which suggests that it might have been built by William Parker (d.1699). The house is remarkable for its period, both because the use of brick is early for this district, and as an example of the fully developed Renaissance house. Although this type of house was fairly common in the Home Counties it is rare in Leicestershire before the beginning of the 18th century.
