Prysten House, Abbey Place, Plymouth

This large merchant's house dates from 1498. It was built for Thomas Yogge who died in 1509. It was extended in 1635. It is built from Plymouth limestone rubble with granite decoration around the openings. It was built in a U-shape around a courtyard with a gallery facing into the rear courtyard. The left hand front room contained a well.
