Raikes Hall Hotel, Liverpool Road, Blackpool, Lancashire

This building was originally built as a country house in the mid 1700s. It was the home of the landowning Hornby family. The house was bought in 1871 by the Raikes Hall Park Gardens and Aquarium Company. They developed its 51 acre site as the principal tourist attraction of Blackpool before the Winter Gardens and Tower were built.
