Regal Cinema, Wells, Somerset

This cinema was built in 1935. It is built in a modern Art Deco style of architecture. Inside it has excellent examples of Art Deco fixtures and fittings. It is unusual in that it also has a stage, so that it could be used as a theatre as well as a cinema. It is thought to be the best work of the architect Ernest Roberts.
