Richard II's Palace, Portchester Castle, Portchester, Hampshire

This is a reconstruction drawing of what the outside of Richard II's palace would have looked like in the 14th century. As part of a reorganisation of the castle between 1396-99 Richard ordered the construction of a series of grand residental apartments for his use. The rooms included a kitch, pantry, Great Hall, several chambers and a chapel. This property is now in the care of English Heritage (2012). Find out more.
