Richard II's Palace, Portchester Castle, Portchester, Hampshire

This is a reconstruction drawing of what Richard II's palace would have looked like in the 14th century. It shows the Hall with the Kings banquet in progress. As part of a reorganisation of the castle between 1396-99 Richard ordered the construction of a series of grand residental apartments for his use. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2011). Find out more.
