Roman Altar, Satley, Durham

This Roman altar, in the garden of Broomshields Hall, is said to have been brought from Iveston by the Greenwell family. It is a stone slab about one metre high, with a carved scroll decoration, in the style of an Ionic capital. It sits on top of a stone plinth.
