Ruins of Priory of St Sepulchre, Brandon Road, Thetford, Norfolk

These are the only ruins in England of a Priory dedicated to the Canons of the Holy Sepulchre. It was founded before 1148 by William de Warenne, 3rd Earl of Surrey. Originally the Canons of the Holy Sepulchre had aided pilgrims to Christ's tomb in Jerusalem. It had become an Augustinian monastery by c1260. It was closed at the Dissolution in 1536. The church was then converted to a barn. This property is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
