Saracens Head Hotel, Market Place, Southwell, Nottinghamshire

The building has been dated by dendrochronolgy to c1460. It is a hotel that incorporates the former assembly rooms that were built in 1805 and designed by Richard Ingleman. The bulding is made from close studded timber framing. The building was also the lodging of Charles I before his surrender to the Scots in May 1646.
