Scala Cinema, Pimlico, Ilkeston, Derbyshire

The Scala cinema dates from 1913 and was designed by James Parsons and Sons of Bulwell. It is built of brick. The front block is in an ornate Edwardian Classical style. The brick has been coated in cement and painted. This is one of the earliest purpose built cinemas in the country that is still in use in 2009.
