Shaftesbury Workmen's Institute, Kingsland Road, Bristol

The hall was opened in June 1900 to provide 'the working classes an agreeable place of meeting for instruction and recreation'. The institute had been started some years earlier on a smaller scale. The construction was made possible through a gift of £2,000 from Sir W H Wills.
