St Lawrence's Hospital, Westheath Avenue, Bodmin, Cornwall

This hospital dates from 1818 and was designed by John Foulston. It was extended around 1838 by George Wightwick and again in the later 19th century. It has not been altered much at all. It is a good example of an early 19th century hospital built on the panoptical plan with a central section that allowed the manager to see the whole hospital.
