Strand Street School, Strand Street, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire

This school was built in 1910-12 by H C Scaping of Grimsby for the Grimsby Education Authority. It has an inscribed plaque inside the west entrance recording the opening of the school on 11th January 1912 by Lady Doughty. It is a very good example of an Edwardian school. Its architecture is a particularly successful adaptation of the plan form, with a roof-top playground.
