The Castle, Leighton Bromswold, Cambridgeshire

This house was formerly a vicarage and originally a gatehouse. It was built in 1616 by Sir Gervaise Clifton. It was altered into a dwelling in the mid 17th century and 18th century. The plans for both the house and the gatehouse by John Thorpe survive in the Soane Museum.
