The kitchen, Portland Castle, Dorset

The kitchen, furnished how it might have looked in the Tudor period. Portland Castle was built as an artillery fort by Henry VIII in the 1540s to protect Weymouth Harbour against French and Spanish invasion. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
