The Old Police Station, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire

This building was originally Tewkesbury Gaol (jail). It was built in 1816, following an Act of 1813. It replaced the Abbey belfry which had been used as the jail. It is recorded that a treadmill was in use at the gaol in 1828. In 1854 the gaol was closed and remodelled as a police station.
