The Old Snuff Mills, Morden, Greater London

This is one block of a former snuff mill and stands in Morden Hall Park. The other block stood on the other side of the mill race (stream). The mill dates back to around 1800 or earlier. Snuff is a finely powdered tobacco for sniffing up the nose. Taking snuff was very fashionable in Georgian England. The mills closed in 1922-3.
