The Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, Surrey

The foundation stone for this hospital was laid on the 3rd July 1863. It opened on the 27th April 1866. It was designed by the architect Edward Lower with advice from Florence Nightingale. The building cost £17,000 and was dedicated to the memory of Prince Albert. Queen Victoria became a patron and donated 100 Guineas to the cost of construction.
