Town Bridge over the River Ouse, Bedford

Bedford bridge is a striking landmark. It was completed in 1813 on the site of an earlier bridge and ford. The width of the bridge was doubled in 1938 to the present size. The 1930s showed a big increase in the number of cars on the roads.
