Tutbury Old Mill, Cornmill Lane, Tutbury, Staffordshire
The corn mill was built in the early 18th century with a house attached. The present mill occupies the site of mills that stood there in the time of the Domesday survey and in the medieval period. The rear part of the building incorporates the remains of a 17th century timber-framed cottage. There was a mill pond and mill race. The corn mill was converted to use as a tannery in 1913-14 by E.B. Chapman. His son Walter expaned the business to produce sheepskins. The business closed in 1983 and was converted into a clothing business and hotel.
