Wallingford Castle, Wallingford, Oxfordshire

A fragment of wall, probaby of 13th-century date, from a castle which dates back to the Conquest. It was destroyed by Cromwell in 1652. The tower here is also known as Queen's Tower and was probably part of the Inner Bailey.
