War shelter, Pendennis Castle, Falmouth, Cornwall

A reconstruction of the World War I shelter with hammocks slung from the ceiling and a meal of stew served up on the table. Construction of the castle began in 1540 as part of Henry VIII's defence of the south coast. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010). Find out more.
