Warkworth Castle, Warkworth, Alnwick, Northumberland

The gatehouse of Warkworth Castle, with the keep beyond. Warkworth Castle was the home of the powerful Percy family (Dukes of Northumberland). The gatehouse was built in the early 13th century and is an example of early English Gothic architecture. This property is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
