Watch Tower, Shrewsbury, Shropshire

This Watch Tower was built in the 13th century. It was built as part of the Town Walls. It has arrow slit windows. It is part of what was known as the Great Wall of Henry III (1220-1252). An entry in the patent Rolls of 1218 had ordered that Shrewsbury should be strengthened and enclosed.
