Willington Stables, Willington, Bedfordshire

This stableblock originally belonged to the Manor house which was probably built between 1535 and 1541. It was built by Sir John Gostwick. He was Master of the Horse to Cardinal Wolsey. Later he was in the service of Henry VIII. His job title was Treasurer and Receiver-General of the First Fruits and Tenths at the Dissolution. The building is now looked after by the National Trust.
