Window seat at Cleeve Abbey, Washford, Somerset

The Cistercian monastery of Cleeve Abbey was founded in 1198 and many of the surviving buildings date from the 13th century. The dormitory for the monks contains a number of tiled window seats, one of which can be seen here. This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
