Description

The current house is an early 17th century rebuild of a 16th century house. It was divided in the 18th century and was restored in the 19th century. The house is situated on Minster Yard, north-east of York Minster. The courtroom has a fireplace with an elliptical arch and paneleld surround. Above is a panelled overmantle with a painting of a lakeland scene.

The house is now cared for by the National Trust.
