The finials on the bench ends in Holy Trinity Church date from around 1475, and are attached to 15th century benches which were reconstructed in the late 19th century. The carvings represent the Seven Deadly Sins, and the Seasons, and it is thought that the Seven Works of Mercy are also depicted. Other figures, including angels bearing symbols of the Holy Trinity and the Crown, also appear. This finial may represent the sin of Pride, with the figure being dressed in fine garments. In the head of each finial is a small hole where lighted tapers were placed.
