The photographer’s notes state: ‘ St James's Church tower on left, and Nos 12a (left) 12 and 11 St James's Parade. Notice the two great buttresses, one on No12, and the other on No 11. These two dwellings form the shell of probably St Mary's Chapel of the Norman period. Calvary Cross on the right in St James's Park.'
