The photographer’s notes state: ‘ Nos. 1 (at further end), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7 (at the top of the steps) West Street, looking E. from Whitson Street, a little to the north of St James's Church.'
Noted in red: ‘These houses were demolished in about 1936. The street no longer exists, being incorporated in garages offices and yards belonging to the Bristol Tramways and Carriage Co. Ltd, Whitson Street.'
