The photographer’s notes state: ‘Nos 9 (low gabled cottage on right), 11, 12 (old house with bays), and 13 (Carpenter's Arms at the corner of Bond Street) St James's Churchyard from Haymarket (east side).'
Noted in red: ‘All demolished, 1953-4? Great changes were being made in the layout of the streets round about here. Haymarket, a triangular space, has disappeared.'
