Description

The painting is signed 'F. Dillon'. Apsley House, also known as ‘Number One, London’, stands on the north side of Hyde Park Corner. It is the former home of the 1st Duke of Wellington (1769–1852) and was granted to him by a grateful nation follwing his victory at the Battle of Waterloo.
