Description

Although the daybook states that the image is of Didsbury Hall, it actually shows the entrance hall of The Towers, Didsbury. The Towers was built in 1868-1872 by the architect Thomas Worthington, for J E Taylor. It was sold in 1872 to David Adamson, one of the founders of the Manchester Ship Canal, for whom the photograph was taken
