Description

Mentmore House, also known as Mentmore Towers, was built 1852-1854 by the architects Sir Joseph Paxton and G H Stokes for Baron Mayer Amschel de Rothschild. In 1878 Rothschild's daughter, Hannah, married Lord Rosebery, and the house and grounds became the Rosebery estate.
