William Ridley and Sons are listed in a contemporary Kelly's Directory as 'timber, slate, tile, cement and chimney piece merchants'. They occupied premises at Abbey Wharf in Reading, which have since been demolished. The Bedford Lemere daybook lists the architect as W Ravenscroft.
